The main objectives of Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych are:

Normalising the use of Welsh in every aspect of life in Denbighshire

Ensure that opportunities and encouragement are available for incomers and non-Welsh speaking residents to learn the language

Ensure there are opportunities for residents to develop their knowledge and use of the language

Influence the wide range of social, economic, cultural and educational activities taking place within the county in order to develop bilingual or Welsh communities.

A taste of our work…
Promote the value of the Welsh language to parents

Organise activities to raise awareness of the social opportunities and support available for parents to raise their children in Welsh or to become fully bilingual.
Welsh activities for children and young people

Organise activities for children and young people – art workshops, sports clubs, holiday clubs, Lego and Minecraft workshops and ukulele workshops – to give attendees the opportunity to use Welsh in an informal setting.
Community activities

Organising Welsh social activities in the community

Provide advice and support to community/voluntary groups on the use of Welsh, language awareness, or support to organise and promote activities
Collaborating with partners to benefit the Welsh language in Denbighshire

Hold County Language Forum meetings (Denbighshire Language Partnership) to encourage collaboration and avoid duplication when developing, supporting and promoting the Welsh language in the county
