If you’ve been shopping in some of our local towns over the last couple of weeks, you will have noticed that some businesses have been busy decorating their windows to convey the day of our patron saint, Dewi Sant, or St. David, on March 1st.
The St David’s Day windows competitions have been held this year again by Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych, with the help of town councils and mayors and the Cymraeg Byd Busnes project. The Prestatyn campaign was jointly arranged with members of the school council at Ysgol y Llys.
Almost 100 businesses took part across the county, and winning windows were as follows:
Denbigh
Rhuthin
Llangollen
Rhuddlan
Prestatyn
Iorwen Jones, of Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych said: “we would like to thank all the businesses for taking part in the fun. The windows have certainly brought attention to our towns, and it’s great to hear feedback from businesses that have seen an increase in the number of customers through their door as a result of the campaign.”
