Cwis Dim Clem Mentrau Iaith Cymru has returned once again to Denbighshire, and next month two schools will represent the county in the North Wales Regional Round – Ysgol Pen Barras and Ysgol Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd.
Both schools had to compete in two county rounds before qualifying for the North Wales Regional Round. .
Cwis Dim Clem began before Christmas, with Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych team visiting Welsh-medium primary schools in the county.
Developed by Menter Bro Dinefwr in 2015, this is a quiz for older pupils at the school to test their general knowledge about Wales (and beyond!) in a fun and easy way
11 primary schools in the county took part in the quiz this year, and over 250 pupils completed Round 1. A big thank you to all the pupils for their enthusiasm – it was great to see so many of them enjoying themselves and working together within their teams!
The five schools with the highest scores qualified for Round 2: Ysgol Twm o’r Nant, Ysgol Bro Cinmeirch, Ysgol Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd, Ysgol Pen Barras, and Ysgol Gymraeg y Gwernant. Huge congratulations to the five schools for making it to Round 2.
Two schools from each county in North Wales will compete in the Regional Round. Best of luck to the two teams representing the county: Team F.A.S.T. from Ysgol Pen Barras and Team Fantastic Four from Ysgol Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd.
A collection of pictures from some schools throughout the rounds!
