Singing event to unite communities!

Community initative Nerth Dy Ben is hosting a special singing event in the new year with the aim of bringing communities together to create something special and memorable.

On Saturday, January 31, ‘Cana Nerth dy Ben’ will come to St Asaph Cathedral.

What is Cana Nerth dy Ben? Simply, it’s an unique opportunity for a crowd to learn and sing three familiar Welsh songs together under one roof. The evening will end with a party in the company of Band Pres Llareggub.

You don’t need to have any singing experience as it’s an informal and welcoming event.

Who is Nerth dy Ben?

Nerth dy Ben was established by Alaw Llwyd Owen from Denbigh, after a car accident changed her life in 2018. In the years following the accident, Alaw Owen was determined to focus on the immense strength of the mind and to consider what she could do rather than what she couldn’t do.

As a result of her experiences, she established a platform that brings people together, encouraging others to learn and believe in the power and positive strength of the mind to live life to the fullest!

According to Alaw Owen, the aim of the latest project by ‘Cana Nerth Dy Ben’ was the ‘desire to unite a community’ and ‘to bring people together, to create connections and achieve something together’.

‘That action in itself works wonders for the way our brain works with singing, strengthening the ability to focus, make decisions, and support positive mental energy!’

“Whether you’re just singing in the car, looking for ways to practice Welsh, or want a positive experience during the winter season – everyone is welcome!”

The Event

Anyone is welcome to register, and after registering it will be possible to receive tracks of the songs that have been specially arranged for the event. Three Welsh songs will be sung; one slow, one epic, and one more energetic!

Everything will start at 5 o’clock and the goal is to get as many people as possible to come together to sing in a crowd!
