{"id":5432,"date":"2025-07-28T14:12:06","date_gmt":"2025-07-28T14:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.misirddinbych.cymru\/the-start-of-summer\/"},"modified":"2025-12-17T15:20:57","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T15:20:57","slug":"the-start-of-summer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.misirddinbych.cymru\/en\/the-start-of-summer\/","title":{"rendered":"The Start of Summer!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">As we look forward to the beginning of summer, here&#8217;s a quick look back at the work of the Menter Iaith team, who have been busy supporting events at the end of the schools summer term.<\/p>\n\n<p>Mared Morris, the new Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych assistant officer, has been actively involved at Ysgol Twm o&#8217;r Nant\u2019s Summer Fair in Denbigh and at Ysgol Llewelyn in Rhyl over the past few weeks.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a real eye-opener to feel the buzz happening in primary schools across Denbighshire and hearing and seeing the Welsh language being used by pupils and parents \u2013 it\u2019s a breath of fresh air,\u201d said Mared, 20, from Denbigh, who is in her second year at Cardiff University studying Journalism, Media and Culture.<\/p>\n\n<p>Among the resources available to parents at Ysgol Twm o\u2019r Nant were a Welsh information stall for parents and children, colouring activities for pupils and their younger siblings, and of course, the highlight of the day &#8211; Magi Ann&#8217;s visit!<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.misirddinbych.cymru\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_6274-2-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.misirddinbych.cymru\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_6274-2-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5428\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.misirddinbych.cymru\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_6274-2-980x735.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/www.misirddinbych.cymru\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/IMG_6274-2-480x360.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n<p><p><strong>Mared Morris from Dinbych. She\u2019s always a hit and creates a special memory of Menter Iaith&#8217;s work with children. There was great demand for Women\u2019s Welsh Football Team colouring sheets, along with Seren and Sbarc.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Over in Rhyl, nearly 200 young children took part in the school event, with all sorts of agencies offering information to equip parents with support in family life, language, culture and activities.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cAt Ysgol Llewelyn, the children were given the opportunity to rap with Magi Ann during our visit and seeing their little faces light up was wonderful. They\u2019re amazed to see a cartoon character come to life before their eyes. And of course, it helps parents to link Magi Ann with opportunities for their children to use Welsh.<\/p>\n\n<p><p>\u201cWe made great connections with other agencies and charities at Ysgol Llewelyn, so hopefully we\u2019ll get the chance to collaborate again with some of those who want to introduce Welsh to Denbighshire families,\u201d said Mared.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we look forward to the beginning of summer, here&#8217;s a quick look back at the work of the Menter Iaith team, who have been busy supporting events at the end of the schools summer term.
