Nearly 100 Denbighshire businesses participated in Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych\u2019s annual St David\u2019s Day shop window competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celebrating the patron saint of Wales, G\u0175yl Ddewi, in shop windows across Ruthin, Denbigh, Llangollen, Prestatyn and Rhuddlan gives businesses the opportunity to engage with customers and give due status to the national event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are delighted, yet again, this year to see so many businesses realising the positive commercial value the Welsh language and its culture has on their businesses,\u201d explains Iorwen Jones, Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOrganising this event shows our support, as Menter Iaith Sir Ddinbych, to local independent businesses still reeling from a challenging two years on our towns\u2019 numerous high streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe thank each and every one of the 100 or so businesses who engaged with us, and showcased some wonderful Welsh creativity, products and colour in their shop windows this year. It\u2019s great to see so many businesses wanting to promote their Welshness within our Denbighshire towns.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charity, Menter Iaith, is grateful for all the support of its partners, as they work to promote the use of the Welsh language in every day life. This year Town Councils at Ruthin, Denbigh, Llangollen, Prestatyn and Rhuddlan were all partners who supported the activities within their respective towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Towns\u2019 Mayors and Consorts judged the decorated windows on all five high streets with prizes given to the top three businesses from each town. Judging took into account creativity, use of the Welsh language, and references to St David and Welsh culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
